Putting pen to paper is one of the greatest ways of helping to communicate and release your innermost thoughts. It strengthens your connection and the deep knowing of who you really are.

Be it negative or positive thoughts keeping a journal, diary, writing a blog or being creative through poetry and songwriting benefits emotional (mind) and physical (body) symptoms; linked to our mental health.

Try the following OPEN UP AND WRITE IT DOWN exercise for 21 days. Usually, after this time it is easier to include into your daily routine.

Things you need:

  • Journal
  • Pen

Spent at least 15 minutes a day doing this.

Find a quiet space, being one with nature helps with expressive writing. Go for a walk and find a nice open green space. Get comfortable and start focusing on your deepest feelings. Allow your words to flow, don’t worry about your handwriting, spelling, grammar or whether it makes any sense because this journal is about releasing deep and pure emotions. It could be that one day you don’t have much to say, your thoughts and words may well be repetitive and that’s okay! Just keep trying to go back to it every day.

Writing is also a great way to connect with the universe. Your thoughts, emotions, and feelings are sent out into the universe and you will be guided and protected. We all have a light, a guardian angel watching over and supporting our path.

Reflect on your journey every couple of days. Check in with your feelings. How are you feeling?
